I know this is not a good question as there is no time frame for GC process?
But please share your experience;
How many years it could take to get GC if it is started with in Aug. 2008 for
-EB2 category
-EB3 category

I am trying to understand the time (years) difference between two process.

Mine was transferred sometime in Nov or late october of 07. They didn't do anything until the date for I-485 became current on 1st august. However, it might be just a co-incidence as my I-485 is still pending. So I am probably not under PPP program going on in TSC.

Can some body advise what is the best way to send money to India using SBI online?

Do i have to have an account with SBI? NRE/NRO/Regular

I have an account with State Bank of Bikarner and Jaipur, can i send money from my US account into SBBJ and then to SBI (parents account) ONLINE?

I live in Colorado and hence do not have the luxury of walking into an SBI US branch.

Any advise is appreciated.

With identical evidence, my EB2-NIW was approved at NSC.

EB1-EA requires "extrodinary ability". So you need to have national/international merit/awards like olympic medal or nobal prize. Just having PhD and having tons of papers will not necessarly makes a person as "extrodinary". So it is tricky and diffult. It is better to consult a any of your friend, if they got through EB1-EA, or otherwise consult a good lawyer who is capable of making sucsesful EA cases. This forum mainly thros idea on Eb2/EB3 and retrogression issues. You may not find a good answer here.

Ok, what I posted is from these guidelines http://www.hooyou.com/lc/perm_eb2vseb3.html , EB2 used to be easier before PERM, it is also possible if position is job zone 4 but SVP is 8 or higher to go via EB2- PERM, I hope you are right in disagreeing though.

I've done alot of debugging to try figure the problem... (.show()) isn't a method inside the openFileDialog class...?
-The main thing i'm found when debugging is that when the openFileDialog is used to do anything in my program even if i don't use any information from it it doesnt write my TEST data to a xml file or any other methods i use to write an xml file... eg.
When i run these lines in conjunction to the rest of my code

Commenting out the openFileDialog and just storing a random file name then the rest of my program (eg. writing the xml file and info wanted) works however when i get the file name from the openFileDialog it doesn't let me write any Xml files even ones i have working already.

If anyone has had the same error or has knowledge please reply cheers

IV core,

Thanks very much for your tireless work.

I have some serious questions to you. Hope you will answer them. I fully understand that you are all volunteers. I am not demanding anything; rather this is a request...

1) Does IV working on any temprory EB visa fix for people waiting for 8 years? Or IV is waiting for CIR to happen?

2) A simple one line amendment (that is easily acceptable by the lawmakers) in a must pass bill will fix the problems of long time sufferers. Does IV have anything in its agenda?

3) Does IV beleive in bringing releif to IV members in steps or do you want to solve all members problem in one shot? If the second case is true, is it possible in this economy?

4) Recently many immigration related amendments are debated in congress; not for one bill but during two bills. There was no single amendment that helps the heavily retrogated categories. Why IV is not successful in requesting the lawmakers to bring up an amendment? Is there a single soul (lawmaker) sympathetic to our cause? If money is the only issue, I will donate first and persuade my friends to do the same.

We (me and many of my friends) were once active members right from the early days of IV. We contributed and involved in every IV initiative before. Now we are in the sidelines. I strongly beleive, members like me will be active again once we see any hope. Right now there is none.

We are open to all possibilities in getting relief (big or small) for the community.
You may want to read more about the process of a bill , politics of the immigration issue and how it affects any bill. It is not as simple as one line amendment.
Please get involved with IV and learn more what we are doing. Try getting appointments with your lawmakers and take part in action items. We currently have an action item going. You will know how the process of amendment and bills work. Opening threads asking IV core is not going to help.Help yourself by actively getting involved.

BTW Could you update/complete your profile. This data is helpful for IV advocacy efforts and also for IV tracker.

There is a website called Google. Its amazing in that it is above nationality and responds to every "is which of the two"

Very innovative. It did not help as a lot of Junior Members were rather talking unwanted crap than discussing on the real point. I was and am hoping for something better here.
Anyone else who can actually give me the answer?

I got my H1 in 2004 thru an body shopper. I completed my first three year period. got next 3 yr extension recently. when would be right time to apply GC? what category is suggested EB2/EB3?

How long will it take to clear labour?

Hello guys,
Firstly happy diwali to everyone at IV
Quick background:
H1-B valid till jan-2010
Application for GC filed on July 23rd 2007 (reached USCIS - DHL i think)
All checks encashed on oct 17th 2007
Received fingure printing notice on Nov 6th for both - wife and I
Received EAD for both nov 8th.
I work for a consulting company like many others here. This puts me in a spot, if I call the lawyer and ask for advise, he says he is representing my company and cannot answer certain questions. I cannot ask my consulting company for obvious reasons. Hence turning to you guys for help.
Now here is my question:
my priority date is sept 2005. With the dates above, when is it safest to change jobs? Also what is the reason my lawyer (or paralegal) indicated that it is better if I change jobs only after getting my green card?
When I asked if it is ok to travel on H1/H4 to India ...I was informed that it is better not to travel until all this is over. Is there something I am missing? Why is it not safe to travel while on EAD and yet to have the GC in hand?
Last and most imp, is there any on when I can hope to get the actual green card?(dont shout..i know most are still waiting for their receipt notice..but please understand..i am done with that and now want to know what's next).

The major grievance of people on H1 was their spouses cannot work and when the ruling came into effect that the time spent on H4 will not be counted and a new 6 year term is possible, H4s massively applied for H1, and this year�s H1 quota was over on the first day itself and then the lotto! Now when the H1 is approved they are too chicken and do not want to work!

They have taken away these most coveted H1 visa numbers from qualified professionals who wanted to come and work in this country. Please don�t do this next year!

So far two, any more in the same situation! :confused:

Same situation here. As per my lawyer (good lawyer can be trusted but could be ill informed) If my wife doesn't join the employer there is no status change. No need to file any reinstatement from H4 to H1. And I have reconfirmed this a couple of times now.

If you hear anything different from a legit source please do let me know.

Other relevant details in my case is that my wife's ead/ap application was filed on 2nd July. and She is under Adjustment of Status (485) as a derivative. On a second thought, I am not sure if this is the same case as yours.

my advice to you is try to do it in person. i did it a few months ago in houston. i know a lot of people are not lucky enough to be close to a consulate. but when you apply in person, and you say that you will pick up your passport in person, then you take most of the problems away involving postal delivery and receipt of the passport.
so even if it may hurt to drive for a few hours, it may be well worth the drive. afterall passport with a visa stamp is probably the most important document you will ever have in your possession while you are on H1-B.

the way it works in houston is - you submit all the paperwork etc. during morning hours. they will tell you to come and pick up your passport after 3-4 weeks. you go there say a couple of days after they told you to come, pick up your passport...go home...effortless.:cool:

Can I apply for H1 B extension on my own or does it have to go through an immigrtion attorney?

I will be applying for 7th yr H1 based on an ongoing GC process. I 140 approved . I 485 pending.

Is this process any different from normal H1B application ( the first 6 years)
